Direct AFR and CAN flex fuel

A 20 × 18 Direct AFR master map defines requested air-fuel ratio by engine load and RPM. Protected fuel requests retain the richer result, with later factory control remaining active.

CAN flex-fuel correction uses received ethanol content and an editable ethanol curve to adjust base fuel quantity. A compatible ethanol sensor, CAN interface and fuel-system calibration are required.

S-mode Gearlock V2 and second-gear launch

Use S +/− to select and hold a gear through ordinary automatic shift decisions. Anti-lug and over-rev protection can request a protective shift, and a downshift that would exceed the configured over-rev limit is rejected. Factory transmission protections and shift permissions remain active.

At a stop, S mode allows first- or second-gear launch selection. S mode defaults to first; the driver can select second.

4H Overland and Hill Climb

  • 4H + Drive: Overland. Gear-hold logic is designed to reduce repeated shifting on climbs. Qualified coast downshifts and guarded converter operation support engine braking on descents. Launch gear defaults to second.
  • 4H + S: Hill Climb. The driver chooses the held gear, subject to anti-lug and over-rev exceptions. Hill Climb uses its own configurable converter RPM window.

Converter application considers both actual engine RPM and expected RPM after lockup. Factory shift, temperature and fault permissions still determine whether engagement is allowed.

2WD and 4WD feature availability

Direct AFR, CAN flex-fuel correction and S-mode Gearlock V2 are listed for both 2WD and 4WD. Overland, Hill Climb and custom converter control are 4WD-only features that operate in 4H. The 2WD version and other operating modes, including 4-Low, retain factory converter control.

Features can be enabled individually, with editable AFR targets, ethanol fuel correction, shift thresholds and converter windows in VF Tuner. Read the brochure for the full operating details and configurable defaults.
